What is hybrid AI for defence and aerospace?
Hybrid AI uses different models for different tasks. In Aegironix, anything involving drawings, specifications, maintenance records, programme contracts or export-controlled technical data stays on private, open-source models in your own cloud, data centre or air-gapped network, with small models answering first and larger models when needed. Tasks with no controlled data, such as tracking public regulations, airworthiness directives, tender notices or industry news, can use managed models such as Claude, GPT or Grok.
Why not private AI for everything, or a managed tool for everything?
Private-only means your teams miss out on the most capable models for public research. Managed-only sends technical and programme data to a vendor, raises export-control questions and bills every work order, report and document by the token. Hybrid gives each task the right model: control where it matters, frontier capability where it helps, and the lower cost for each workload.
Can controlled or export-controlled data ever reach a managed model?
No. Every request passes a policy check before any model sees it. Anything involving technical, programme, maintenance or export-controlled data, or where the check is unsure, stays private. You decide which task types may use managed AI at all, and you can switch it off entirely, which is the default in air-gapped deployments.
Does Aegironix replace our PLM, ERP or MRO software?
No. Aegironix works on top of the systems you already run. Your PLM, ERP, MES, quality and maintenance systems stay the systems of record; Aegironix reads from them and helps your teams analyse, summarise and draft, grounded in your own procedures, manuals and design standards.
Does Aegironix make decisions automatically?
No. Aegironix is decision support with human oversight. Your systems are connected read-only; nothing is released to service, certified, classified, filed or sent to a customer; and a qualified person reviews every output and makes the decision. Aegironix is not designed or offered for weapons targeting, engagement or other use-of-force decisions.
Can Aegironix handle ITAR, EAR and EU dual-use data?
Aegironix is designed to support your export-control programme. Controlled technical data is processed only on private models in infrastructure you choose, access can be limited by programme, role, nationality and licence, and every access is logged. Classification and licensing decisions stay with your export-control officers, and compliance depends on how your organisation configures and uses the platform.
Can Aegironix run in air-gapped or classified environments?
Aegironix can be deployed fully on-premise and disconnected from the internet, with managed AI switched off and updates delivered through your own secure transfer process. Use with classified information requires accreditation of the environment by your national security authority; we provide documentation to support that process.
Does Aegironix monitor individual workers?
No. Inspection vision detects findings such as blade damage, composite indications, missing fasteners and foreign objects, not identities. There is no facial recognition and no scoring of individual technicians or inspectors; faces can be blurred at the source, and imagery is processed only on private models in your own infrastructure. We provide documentation for your data-protection impact assessment and works council.
What is sovereign AI for defence and aerospace?
In Aegironix, sovereign or private AI is the part that handles controlled data. The models run inside your own cloud account, sovereign cloud, data centre or secure facility, under your control, instead of on a vendor’s servers. Aegironix delivers it as an operated platform, so defence and aerospace companies get the benefits without building an AI team.
How is Aegironix different from building aerospace AI ourselves?
Running AI on controlled technical data is far more than provisioning a server with a GPU. It needs infrastructure provisioning as code, model serving, retrieval over your own procedures and manuals, connectors to PLM, ERP and maintenance systems, access control by programme and licence, staging environments, release engineering with evaluation gates and rollback, observability, autoscaling, backup and security policy, all kept running every day. Aegironix delivers that complete stack, built on XePlatform, inside your own infrastructure and operated for you, so a supervised pilot can start within weeks without new hires.
How does Aegironix support CMMC, NIS2, AS9100 and the EU AI Act?
Aegironix is designed to support obligations under NIST SP 800-171, DFARS 252.204-7012 and CMMC for controlled unclassified information, NIS2, GDPR, the EU AI Act for civil and dual-use applications, AS9100 and EN 9100 quality management, and EASA Part 21 and Part 145 organisation requirements. Controlled data is processed only inside your own infrastructure, every request and approval is logged, and we provide documentation for your risk assessments and audits. Compliance itself depends on how your organisation uses the platform.
Which AI models does Aegironix use?
Open-source general, vision and time-series models run inside your infrastructure for all controlled work, alongside your own engineering and reliability models. New models are adopted only after they pass evaluation on your own data. Managed models such as Claude, GPT or Grok are used only for tasks with no controlled data.
Where can Aegironix run?
On the major public or sovereign clouds in the region you choose, in Europe or North America, in your private cloud or data centre, or on GPU servers in hangars, plants and secure facilities, including disconnected networks. It is built on open standards so you can move without rebuilding.
How much does hybrid AI for defence and aerospace cost?
A fixed platform subscription plus your own infrastructure costs, with no per-token fees for controlled work. Managed AI is billed per token only for the tasks you route to it, under a monthly cap. Small models first, capacity that follows your shifts and test campaigns, and shared hardware keep the cost of each answer low, which matters when work orders, sensor data and documents arrive around the clock.
How long does a pilot take?
The environment is set up in hours and your procedures and manuals loaded within days. A supervised pilot with your engineers typically runs about four weeks, while your IT, security, export-control and compliance teams complete their review in parallel.
